Formal Education and Training: I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Eastern Washington University in Vancouver, Washington. After completing my Bachelor of Arts, I went on to complete my Master of Arts, in Social Work and my master’s Certificate in Addictions Studies at the main campus of Eastern Washington University in Spokane Washington. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (LH60968697) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Washington (CP60770705). Yearly, I participate in continuing education in specialized areas to be able to provide the newest in most quality treatment for my clients as an ethical obligation to my clients and as a requirement to maintain my licensure in the state of Washington. Philosophy and Approach: My philosophy to counseling is rooted in a humanistic, person-centered holistic approach within an Interpersonal Psychotherapy. This philosophy has been complimented by years of trainings and experiences throughout my journey to be the most effective clinician I can be. Many of the trainings that I implement during our time together may include family systems, Attachment theory, Gottman's couples counseling, trauma informed therapy and neurobiology just to name a few. I believe in a holistic approach that looks at the environment the individual is struggling with, as well as the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are contributing to that struggle and what will work best for each person in that environment, to bring about peace and empowerment, so that they can see positive change and take charge of their lives. As we build an alliance together, we will explore the relational dynamics that contribute to the problems that motivated them to seek help and the complex thoughts, and patterns of behaviors that are getting in the way of them and their happiness. Participation: The therapeutic experience is created and shared by the willingness of both by the therapist and the client to share and to be honest with one another. Therapy can be both difficult and rewarding as it brings about change and experiencing uncomfortable and intense emotions can be a natural to part of that process. Ask questions and encourage yourself to be curious so that you are better able to work through intense emotions and the recall of unpleasant events. You are encouraged to discuss any thoughts or feelings you may have and can discontinue therapy at any time should you wish to do so. You may also request a referral to a new therapist at any time and you can refuse to do any activity you don't feel comfortable with. The most important aspect of therapy is your experience, so working together to ensuring a positive therapeutic experience is of the utmost Importance. Consultations: Consultation with other experienced professionals regarding clients with whom I am working Is frequently done to gain insights These consultations allow for different perspectives and ideas as to how to best help you reach your goals, Confidentiality is always maintained during these consultations and can lead to Insightful moments and directions In which to proceed. Scheduling Appointments: Appointments are generally made on a weekly basis and are the responsibility of the client to reschedule at the end of each session. Appointment times are not automatically held open for you, but I will make every effort to keep the same appointment time available to you unless frequent cancellations have been made. In the event an appointment needs to be changed or canceled, please notify me as soon as possible. If an appointment Is canceled less than 24 hours in advance. of a scheduled appointment you will be charged a full session fee. I will let you know at least 2 weeks in advance if I will be unavailable for a session, excepting emergencies. Termination: The length of treatment is an Individual process and cannot be predetermined. As we work together and move throughout the therapeutic process, we will make this transition as effortless as possible. When your treatment does ends, know that you have met your goals for treatment and are now ready to move on with your life. However, should you need therapeutic assistance in the future feel free to at any time.

Seeking counseling is not easy. It takes bravery and commitment but it allows for the healing to begin Whether we realize it or not relationships are at the center of who we are as human beings. They encompass our hopes, dreams and future, as well as our biggest challenges, fears and disappointments. Whether you are seeking counseling for grief and loss, anxiety, depression, work related issues or some different reason altogether, relationships play a pivotal part in what you are experiencing. My philosophy for therapy is focused on building a compassionate, welcoming, and engaging person-centered therapeutic relationship with each client, that focuses on discovering individual strengths and empowering you to live happier, healthier, and more meaningful lives. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, and a Licensed Certified addictions counselor. I received my graduate training from Eastern Washington University Social Work program. I use a CBT framework that is augmented with Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) informed skills, psycho-education, attachment theory and neurobiology. I have a holistic approach that focuses on problematic thoughts, emotions and behaviors that get in the way of us living the life we want to live. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets and being in the outdoors, hiking, camping and four wheeling. I enjoy coffee in the mornings out on my deck, where I can watch the beauty of the Northwest unfold as the bird’s chirp and the sun comes up to welcome in the new day. The wilder side of me also enjoys loud music, going to concerts, comedy clubs and socializing with my friends.
